What’s the average Electric Bill in Maui?

sabian49015 asked:

Aloha,
My wife and I are wanting to move to the South Maui Area. What are the average Cable/Internet bills, electric bills, and do most of the apartment communities in the Kihei area charge tax on top of the monthly rent? It’s just my wife and I in a 2bd 1bath apartment max. Please let me know.
Mahalo

I don’t live on Maui, but I can guess pretty close.
    For a 2 BR - 1000 SF
    Elec - $150
    Cable - $40
    Internet (DSL or Cable)- $40
Sewer/Water - usually included, same for trash

I live on Kauai and got my electric bill today. For a small 3 br/1 ba house it was $112. We have no A/C but have been running 2 ceiling fans constantly while we’re home.

Cable is about $45/month. I have a land phone line as well as a cell phone and I get my internet through Hawaiian Telcom. That bill (phone and internet) is about $55/month.

I live on the big island in a 3/2 home with A/C. Our last power bill was ~$350. —- HELCO just had a rate increase :(
(oh, and our range is not electric - its gas!)

As far as cable, phone, internet - we use Oceanic for all 3 (roadrunner internet, voip phone (free long distance anywhere in US), and full cable with 2 HD DVR’s). For all of this it runs right at $300/mo.
