Maui is incredible. Mt. Haleakala and the aquarium are a must, and there are tons of great places to eat! Also, there is a great smoothie-like drink called a lava flow that can be found at many of the restaurants thats just about the best thing i’ve ever had!

Me, my dad, my brother, and my grandma all went to Maui for summer vacation and I loved it. The kids will surely have a good time. (If you have some I mean. Also, be sure to visit Bubba Gump’s while you are there!

Oahu for the island, staying in Waikiki. You should go to Pearl Harbor, Ala Moana shopping center (the view of the bay from level 5 is breathtaking!), the International Marketplace, Waikiki beach. Then, to travel a bit, go to Waimea Bay, Waimea Valley Audubon Center. The Paradise Cove Luau in Ko Olina is very nice, too.

In the summer, the water is amazingly clear and green. In the winter, the water is still gorgeous but because of the wind and big waves, it stirs up the contents of the ocean and it is not as clear. It may be cheaper in the summer too, because most people go in the winter to escape the cold. It may also be less crowded for that same reason.

Everywhere is a great place to visit, and a helicopter ride over a volcano is not to be missed.

Out of those choices, if this is your first time, I’d just go with Honolulu. Waikiki is an area of Honolulu, that’s where most of the hotels are. There’s a lot to do in that vicinity, and you can either take arranged tours from there, or drive your own car around.

I’m originally from there, so on our annual visit, we rarely even set foot in Waikiki. We prefer to hike in the mountains. If this is your inclination, email me and I can suggest some places of varying difficulty. Or if you’re there in late July, we can take you.

try the north shore, more pretty than south oahu. i dont recemend waikiki, being a local. city is too fast paste. you can relax in the counrty(north shore) and visit thses places: turtle bay, sharks cove, sunset beach, the historic town hale’iwa. and in oahu i also recemend, pali lookout breath taking view,, hope you enjoy and come to oahu!!

On Oahu Island, there is the Polynesian Cultural Center in the town of Laie. There is also Waikiki Beach and Peal Harbor.

As for the Big Island, Volcanoes National Park; just don’t take anything from the grounds like rocks and plants.
