Make sure you go to Kama'ole I which is my favorite beach of the three Kama'oles.

I know you've decided not to rent a car, but I'd like to ask you to maybe reconsider that since there is so much to see just a short distance from Kihei, and a rental car will give you a lot of freedom. Rental car prices on Maui are pretty competitive, so you can usually get a pretty good rate. There may be some companies that will rent to you even if you're under 25.

If you don't want to rent a car, just walk out of the airport at baggage claim, and there is a cab stand there where you'll find a cab to take you to Kihei at a reasonable rate.

Go to Lulu's to eat while you're there. Good food and drinks in a fun setting. For Shave Ice, Local Boyz is the best. These are both on S. Kihei Rd., within walking distance of where you're staying.

Good luck and have fun!

I would suggest you rent a car and drive yourself. Since you'll have an infant (who by law must ride in a car seat), it's the most economical way to move around the island. Kamaole Sands is located in Kihei so if you're planning on doing any sightseeing at all, you'll need to have a car to get around.

Other than that, the only other option you'll have is to hire a cab at the airport and make sure you get a phone number so you can call them again when you want to go somewhere.

Good luck and happy travels!
